~ CLEMATIS ~

CLEMATIS is a large semi-detached property - parts of which are thought to date back to the seventeenth century. It was converted into holiday units in 1998/99 - retaining as much of the original character as possible. It lies at the top of a hill and between the 900 year old church and the 400 year old pub.

  • Excellent panoramic views over the surrounding area.
  • Link to all Island footpath network within 20 metres.
  • Excellent cycling area.
  • Six golf courses within five miles.
  • Safe, sandy beaches within ten minute drive.

The churchyard itself is famous for its mass of crocuses, snowdrops and daffodils in springtime and about half a mile further there are some idyllic woodland walks which abound with bluebells in late April.

The self contained apartments each contain three large bedrooms (Kermesina on the ground floor and Columbine on the first floor) in the main house and a smaller, one bedroom, detached unit (The Dairy) in the rear garden of the cottage. Kermesina and The Dairy are both all on one level (except for low entry threshold in each case), with level access, and so may be suitable for mobility impaired guests.

Kermesina and Columbine are very similar, both consist of three good sized bedrooms, a large lounge with TV, two bath/shower rooms and a kitchen. Kermesina has a dishwasher and Columbine a freezer. Both of these units have eight bed spaces within the bedrooms (in Columbine one of the single beds is 2' 6"). These apartments share a rear lawned garden.

The Dairy consists of one double bedroom, one bathroom and a sitting room (with galley kitchen) opening out via french windows to a private patio. Bed settee in the lounge.

Hot water, central heating and cooking are by gas. Microwaves in all three units.
